Truck driving jobs are often readily available and are almost recession proof. Of course costs of shipping and product is affected by recessions, but truck driving jobs are still available and ready for the picking. A lot of people who are looking for a truck driver job often wonder what they can expect as far as job duties go. We would like to help shed some light on this subject.



You have finally made it through school, and now have been hired with a company. You report to the company for orientation which will last for up to 5 days, and most company's will only give you maybe $25.00 per day for this. Some company's won't JD Truck Training Centre even do this. Of course the feed you lunch, and put you in a cheap motel, and provide you with a van to take you to the terminal and back to the motel.

Everything from braking and grabbing gears; to following distance, lane changes, exit ramps and knowing who's around you, truck driving is a thinking man's game. Thinking ahead is the name of the game. Then everything falls into a natural rhythm.

3) You will need to enroll in a local Truck driving school. There are many schools available all over the country. The best place to start would be at your local community college, which may have a program for you to join. Driving a truck, especially an 18-wheeler is not something that you can just begin to do. You do need practice, and the school will help you with that process. The school will also get you ready to sit for your CDL or commercial driver's license exam. School is not required to receive your CDL, but the test is much easier if you have had the Lr licence training a good school can provide.

For example Chicago is a big city to get through. From 6:00 am in the morning to about 8:00 pm at night you will have a lot of traffic. 3:00 pm rush hour begins and doesn't settle down until 8:00 pm; most big cities are like this. If you are going to be going through at rush hour you're best bet is to wait at a truck stop for a few hours and take a nap.

Driver training across the country focuses on turn signals, mirrors, seat belts and all the other modern safety tools that help a driver avoid a traffic accident. However there isn't much discussion on what to do when you are now the crestfallen owner of a twisted hunk of metal instead of the reliable car that HR Truck Licence you used to drive.
